Putting it on "wax"
I have made the decision to recollect the lps/vinyl records from my youth so I went out and bought a brand new player. I also went to a second hand store and purchased a lp I never owned before but I love the band. I mainly did this because I wanted to make sure I hooked the player up correctly. The music sounds amazing. Okay, not digital amazing but I am getting back to my youth. Music was different back then. It was original, thoughtful, meaningful, powerful, and sometimes simple. Songwriters/singers like Dylan, Marley, Presley, CCR, The Beach Boys, The Beatles and KISS were part of my life's soundtrack and listening to them on "wax" was the true way to enjoy them. That was the way my parents enjoyed them and that's the way I learned to love them as well. I'm getting back to my roots, and loving every minute of it!

Insomnia
Not being able to get any sleep at night really puts a strain on the next day. If a person isn't well rested, he is going to have a hard time focusing on the things he has to do. I tossed and turned for 5 hours last night before I said "Screw it!" and got out of bed. There are many factors that can keep me from having a good sleep and some of them are changes that I can make but sometimes I wish I could just shut down and fall asleep on demand. I know some people that can fall asleep at the drop of a hat and in the middle of a hurricane and this makes me so jealous. But then, I can do things that they can't do..like stay awake all night and wonder where I am going to find the energy to get through the next day.
